reincarnate remembrance...

My eyes are cast
lured into memories pond
where ripples of life
travel outbound
with my thoughts train.
Colors of autumns past
remind me of their loss
in winter.
And with this part of self
I paint the beauty of my life
behind open eyes
without a brush.
Reflect upon the water
emotion afloat
of visions held in other times
other places.
In depth I remain
hooked with dreams
of a family tree
in age’s arms
yet to be reborn.
And as I awaken
to the voice of sunset
darkness instills the
silence in my soul
until the light
of my memories
again awaken my emotions.
Again and again
I return
water for daydreams.

Yours is a talent that touches people, and like the ripple in the water, grows and shows for others. Thank you for sharing!

I love your poems....they remind me of how Jenny would write. I lost all her poems and writings after she died. I only got back wat you see on that site I showed you....some from friends of hers, some from a recovery program.

"where ripples of life travel outbound..." Probably one of the great lines of all time in this poem. With such a great title. You must be a Pisces, or perhaps "water images" just make your muse flow! Again and again, you return... great stuff.

Such beautifully conceived images of different lifetimes which is the mystery that keeps us wondering how many we have. Very well written John!

Allowing the mind and spirit to wonder to a better place is sometimes good food to soothe the soul....

I knew a Blind Artist, Captain Jordan. His work is hanging in the Presidential Library and he was a friend of my father's. He painted with emotions and in his art the depth of emotions were acute in every way. He wasn't blind all hias life so he painted memories. Your poem reminds me of Captain Jordan and the great vision his art gave others.
Love,
Susan

I paint the beauty of my life
behind open eyes
without a brush.

I've often wished I could draw or paint what I feel. Unable to do so, I use words instead. Thank you for sharing this gift, John. Love and peace,

Regis

'Water for daydreams'....I think this piece and my 'Like Mondays' could be melded into its central thought. The images in this piece are stunning especially...
'I paint the beauty of my life
behind open eyes
without a brush.'
I love this!
Always,
M

Beautifully rendered is this tale of barren landscape (soul) awaiting the thaw and the rebirthing . . .

Nice metaphor equating water with your life in brush less words that paint life.

Even though I don't believe in reincarnation, the memories held in tears, the loss of dreams, returns again and again...what could we have done to change things, make things better? A thought provoking piece you've penned this morning, John, well done.

(((HUGS))) and love, Karla.
