It’s been fourteen years since you left our home shores
To seek opportunities abroad and open new doors.
It seems like forever since we’ve been separated by miles,
And an eternity since we’ve sat together and shared some smiles.
When our dear Dad departed you were unable to return home.
It must have been hard to bear the loss on your own.
Dear brother of mine we can hardly wait
Till you set foot on our island and walk through our gate.
We have so many years of catching up to do,
With sweet Annie and our handsome nephews too.
They were just toddlers when they left our island,
Today one is in his late teens and one is a handsome young man.
Lately we’ve been meeting online every night,
Making plans for your vacation to be just right.
You inform me of people and places you’d like to revisit,
Trying to see how many of them time would permit.
I know your visit isn’t till the month of June,
Till then, dear brother, I’ll be singing a silly tune.
