Sometimes I Wonder

~~~~~~~~This poem speaks for itself~~~~~~~~
~~?~~
Sometimes I wonder
What it would be like
To feel that stirring within me.
To feel that first kick inside,
Knowing there was that little someone
Depending on me,
Just waiting to come into this world.
Sometimes I wonder
About the joy a woman must feel
To announce to her loved one
That she had been blessed
And would be expecting their child.
How proud she must be
When she tells her family the good news.
Sometimes I wonder
What it would be like to feel
Another life growing inside my own,
Knowing its very existence depended on me.
To experience that beautiful nine months,
Of growing anticipation
Before feeling the pain of giving birth.
Sometimes I wonder
What it would have been like
To see my child grow from tot to teen
And all the years that went in between.
To hold her close to my heart,
To experience that bond that
Only a Mother and her child could share.
Sometimes I wonder
And it makes me so blue.
How my life would have turned out,
Had I not lost my child fifteen years ago.
But I thank my lucky stars,
That I have people to love.
(Jeff, Nicki and Che).
...Still...
Sometimes
I
Wonder.
Talk about a lump forming in a reader's THROAT while reading this! As a mother, I could NEVER fathom the loss of a child. Makes me want to hug all of their naughtiness out of them. You have knocked this page out with your heart. Excellent job! Touched me.
Thanks,
Emilie
Beautifully said, Jenni...I have been there so long ago and I know that loss. Nothing brings that back or ever answers that question with all conviction. My thoughts are with you.
This is something I have never wondered about. Admire those who take up the challenge and try to raise decent children in today's world. Good poem. Heartfelt.
Thank you, Tee... I guess spending the last two weeks with my teenaged nephew and his bigger brother kinda sparked off something in me..
Thanks, all, for your kind comments..
