I loved the ending !!! many a Tommy out there left in the cold, so nice and proper than a poet should remind us that Santa not always go down through the chimney.
I love this...I have a little boy like Tommy in my class, whom this poem just fits, there is always one or two children who seem to get overlooked during the holidays...I have a special person who enjoys treating those children each year, they leave gifts with no name attached other than...S.C. in our principal's office and the children are asked to come to the office, for the reason they do not know...but the expressions of joy and curiosity as they enter the door melts the heart. Great write, cute and warm...just like a child's thoughts.

Dear, sweet poem...that reminds us of the innocense and compassion of a child; how much we can learn from them, our beautiful children. This is so cuddly warm to read!
This is a wonderful holiday poem for Children CJ! I always loved the story of the first Saint Nicholus...He was a Christian and made and bought toys for all the little poor children. Honoring Jesus Christ...as his Lord.
Lovely piece here CJ

That was very motherly and sweet. Simply lovely. God bless your dear heart. Reminds me of little Tom in Dickens Christmas Carol. Victor
Hi CJ, read this one with great interest. I couldn't help flashing back to my own childhood days. Christmas was a special occasion at our house. My Mom wrote and produced Christmas plays...usually about the Nativity. They were amazing. People of all walks of life came to see the production. Father Christmas was special too, but not as special as Baby Jesus in the manger. These days, all kids seem to focus on is the big fat guy in the red suit...little is told about Baby Jesus, who is for sure the Reason for the Season. I'm terribly sorry that they have taken Jesus out of schools. Oh, what a dreadful thing to do, don't you agree?
Looking forward to reading more Christmas poems, CJ. :)
Aw CJ, so many of your poems bring back memories of Mo. She kept asking for a soccer ball for her birthday. Of course papaw gave her one. After she opened the box, she immediately gave it to her cousin Jakey. Kids really don't have the me mes if you just give them the chance. Once again you have shown us the child we all should be as grown-ups

... A wonderful tribute to the spirit of Christmas as encapsulated in the heart of a giving child. I think it a shame that children, sometimes, are dubbed as selfish and "grabbing" when often they beat us adults hands down when it comes to thoughtfulness and sharing. Wonderful "simplicity" and generosity here, CJ. Would all our Christmas attitudes follow suit... TY K xx
Rasputin, the most feared wolf in the forest, bent on revenge for old insults. But then one night his life is turned around and a new future presents itself... will the old wolf choose to accept it?
Meet Girdy, a delightfully spooky witch with green stringy hair, a bumpy nose, and a knack for mischief! Alongside her eerie but lovable family—Momma Mummy, Daddy Gargoyle, and her mischievous brother Goblin—Girdy embraces her wonderfully weird world
What an endearing presence this one has...you have aptly captured the hearts of children everywhere...what a blessing you are.
Merry Christmas with love,
Rhonda
