As I'm finally cleaning out boxes I brought from Daytona Beach to my "new country home" (ha!) I have been tossing old cassette tapes, and lyrics into a tote to be reviewed each morning for a bit = I found out two things: I was a pretty good songwriter even 25 years ago and 2. I also couldn't sing worth a damn! (I'm actually better now and that's still not so hot) AND YES, I played a fine piano even then. Therefore, I chucked the music on this one as to "yesterday" but have kept the lyrics. Believe it or not, I wrote this in 1984 for a demo I hand carried to New York city which of course went absolutely nowhere! Still it was a wonderful year of last freedom before I was put on dialysis in the fall of 1984 and then returned to Florida. I think I played and sung this around town a bit - I pity the poor folks who had to suffer through my vocal if not my piano work! I still like the lyrics.
LEAVE IT TO THE MASTER PLANNER [1984] 1/ When the pieces don't fit... When the tide rolls in... When you're wondering why (and what to do) - just surrender, but don't ever die. Leave it to the Master Planner Leave it to the Master Planner 2/ When you think you know what's best, When you don't know what to think, Just give it all a rest. When you're sure happiness lies that way, When you're really sure, just move ahead But trust it all to something bigger - and Just get out of yourself/ yea, get out of yourself! 3/ When you can't find the next note... When you can't find the right word... When all of life seems an uphill fight (and doesn't it!) Nothing's happening and nothing seems right - Love seems to be gone - You seem invisbile (to everybody!) Give everyone a rest before you make yourself miserable! 4/ WHEN LIFE IS LIKE A RUBRIC'S CUBE... And, there doesn't seem to be a solution, You know it's all in how you're seeing it, It 's all a matter of evolution - Somehow it equals out (just drop it, let it go) and Leave it to the Master Planner The world is like one of those equations: turn it around any way you will and it still has to equal out...(one may hope!) c. 1984, michael guy under title: "Quest" 3/06/08: comment: given that this was over 20+ years ago, I'm still searching to be published and the necessary resources - I'd like to add a qualifier: some power is less concerned with the linear aspect of our timeline than we - or am I being resentful? Since in any other culture or time period, I would have died at 30 in New York city, I suppose I've seen my answer in a way. I'm still here, trying!

Your song - inspirational!!!

I too have an organ and play the piano but since death of husband Tom I have not played often. Just cannot bring myself to do it. Liked this poem and inspiring to me and makes me want to go on and things better will come my way. Pray for me,
