Didn't know about this lovely tradition. I'll mark my calendar to remember to do this next year. What a wonderful way to introduce others to the beauty of poetry.

Dear Larry, it is a great way to avoid any polemic or misunderstanding. In my town they used to speak with poems or with proverbs to avoid saying something wrong. Your poem is so good and to the point. A poem at the right time and in the right circumstances can better express our thoughts than we could say it. Lovely . . . I'm not much on these kind of superficial rites we humans seem to want to do, ad nauseum, to make themselves think what they do truly makes a difference in the grand scheme of things . . . But in this case I cannot "not" go along with the short, but intriguing idea, because to refuse too do this is to refuse a chance to feel good about yourself and feeling good about yourself is essential to good health and mental awareness . . . Very well written poem, my friend . . .
