Trials
By Kathy Armijo

How long must I continue to try?
With every breath, I strive to do Your will.
Some days my successes are numerous.
Some days my failures decry Your goodness.

It doesn’t matter how hard I try,
I often feel like I’ve let you down.
I know You won’t frown
Because You know I’m trying.

Some days the journey feels too heavy.
All the things I’ve got to do,
            Who wouldn’t feel gloomy?
So much on my plate,
            I think I need sideboards.

Your love and strength are my salvation.
But, I’ll keep asking
How long must I continue to try?
And, of course, You reply:
            Until the day you die.

In a thoughtful way I find this poem uplifting. For generations mankind has been asking these very same questions and the answer has always been the same, when we give up trying we are dead. Congratulations.

Oh My, this is sad to me. We do let others down. Without intentional harm of course. This poem reminds me of my first poem that I wrote when I was 13. I don't know what to say, I hope your not feeling despair.

Kathy,
Life is forever changing from the goodness that we feel to the challenges we face. I feel that one should embrace all as a learning experience and move on with a smile and happiness in your heart, knowing that you have another chance to live another day with your family, and nature as your background.
Much peace, love, and light,
Amber "V"

As we look around us, our own personal environment and the worlds environment at the things which are going on it, it's not surprising that we feel we don't measure up in His eyes . . .

Kathy,

You poem “Trials” reflect my mood today. Life is a journey through which there are valleys and mountain tops experiences. I seem to be in the gloom of a valley today, but I don’t intend to wallow there for long. I have too much that I want to accomplish in the short journey that we call life. I have vision for a brighter tomorrow. If I can help just one person along in their journey, then I will be able to close my eyes in death with peace of mind. Thank you for the poem.
