Finding Love
By Kathy Armijo

When I think back on finding love
I remember my first kiss
Second grade, schoolyard
Being chased by Freddie

That kiss was yucky
But, I did feel lucky
To be chased by a
Third grader

First boyfriend, fourth grade
Second boyfriend, married him
Turned out to be a charade
It was infatuation.  Boy, was I dim

Still, I had my sons
Then, I knew the meaning of love.  They were such a gem
Unconditional true love, I got from them
My darling little munchkins

Got divorced, then remarried
And,
I still remember THAT first kiss
Felt it all the way down to my toes,
The pit of my stomach and the core of my heart

Every time he kisses me
I still get that tingle
I know unconditional love
From this wonderful man

Our love has spanned many years
He’s taken away so many fears and tears
Filled my heart with joy and laughter
It is a love that couldn’t make me happier

Now, I am truly lucky
Blest, and content
I never feel wanting or empty
It is love that was meant
To be for all eternity

Author’s Note - Update:  Steve is still in a great deal of pain, but he’s home.  “Thank you, God!”  This is simply another chapter in the journey of life.  It is not as pleasant as other chapter’s, but it is a book still in progress.  Thank you, again, for all your prayers!   Kathy

Kathy, I feel as though we all have had a similar experience, I myself married my first "real" boyfriend at the tender age of 18 and 32 years later we divorced because it really wasn't "real" after all. So I am searching now, for "that first kiss" again that will be for eternity. I loved this poem, it really touched my heart. Much blessings and love and healing energy to you and Steve this holiday season. Love you much, my sweet Kathy..
Peace, love, and light,
Amber "V"
