Love’s Passage
By Kathy Armijo
How does love begin?
Is it that you get a wink?
Or, does it happen before you can think?
You could meet in church.
You could meet just sitting on your stoop.
Regardless, your heart knows and lets out a whoop!
And quickly your demeanor you try to recoup.
Is it truly love or lust?
You think, “Are we in the same age-group?”
You figure, “I’ll give it a whirl!”
Sometimes, the dance endures
Sometimes, it is like two ships passing in the night
Call it what you will
Love, lust, a fling, or any other thing
This feeling always makes your heart sing
If it ends, your heart breaks
But up front, you knew the stakes
Is it truly
Better to have loved and lost,
Than to never have loved at all?
NO!! Not when you’re taking such a fall
It would be better to be like a rubber ball
To bounce back up, or get on a roll
Rather than letting that loss consume your heart
Easier said than done
But you gotta’ start somewhere
Least that’s what they say
Don’t dwell on the loss
Just remember, you are the BOSS
Of your life

A phase in our lives that I'm sure we have all experienced. Especially in our younger days and perhaps even today. Wisedom speaks through experienced and I'm sure we are none the less for it. Peace, Love and Blessings Always, Paul.
