Remember the days
when we were both young
we'd walk for hours
and talk
about nothing?
When you'd call me up
at for o clock in the afternoon
and we'd put on our bathing suits
in the sweet summer sun
and talk about boys
love,
and our dreams for the future
on your front porch
sipping lemonade.
When bad days didnt exist,
because everything was simple,
for two best friends,
in the summer.
when worries were forgotten,
dried up by the sunshine
forever lost
to a colder season
that didnt even exist
in our warm world
of summer
picnics,
trampolines,
friendships,
bikinis,
sleepovers,
boyfriends,
and love.
but the air has gotten colder,
snow is falling,
covering our summer hopes and dreams
blacking them out,
winter is here.
Have we really growen up that fast?
where are those two girls
i used to know?
wont you come out to walk in the sun
again
with me?
for we are still so young....
wont you come play in the snow?
Lovely--and with every cycle of seasons there is a passing year. May you have many, many years to enjoy with those special friends--even the storms for they will help you weather them.
Excellent write.
Enjoyed.

Beautifully written work. I flowed right along with these words. You have a gift for word and pen.......
If we could only re-capture those wonderful times once again.
Best regards,
Chris

Each person is but a grain of sand resting beside the sea. This thought sets the tone for Jill Eisnaugle’s latest poetry collection, Beside Still Waters.
