Don’t talk to me, don’t call my name,
Don’t tangle up my heart,
Don’t speak of life’s temptations
Like they never will depart.

Please hold your thoughts of self-dismay
Beneath the naked eye,
Don’t detonate, don’t dilate,
Let anger pass you by.

When every soul has turned away
Please stay right by my side,
Be strong, be you, be everything…
Obedience denied?

Whatever’s on your plate today,
Don’t let it hold you back,
Look out for me when no-one will
But cut me no more slack.

Don’t overwhelm your peers and friends
With fairytales galore,
For even though they sound like songs
The music’s stopped before.

Be warned, be young! Enjoy your life!
Forgive the worst alive,
You’ve hordes of opportunities,
If only you’ll abide.

But please don’t let it get to me
Admittedly, its true ,
The outcome of my every day
Depends, no doubt, on you.
