From behind your windowpane?

Does the darkness seem to watch you
With it's arsnic eyes alight?

And hold your breath real tight?

Has there ever been a moment
When a shadow donned my shape?
Did you cringe in fear and hide your face,
Pretend you wern't awake?

Have you let your mind a-wander
Down a sleepy, peaceful dream,
Just to have the cast remove their masks,
True knowlage makes you scream?

Do the ribbons of my anger
Twist and turn when lights go out?
Do they wind around your straining throat,
And tighten as you shout?

Does my spirt ever haunt you
As you lie, sweat drenched, in bed?
Do you see me in the crevices,
Do I live within your head?

Does the night sky fuel desire
For ressurection of the past?
Have you reached a shaking, goosebumped hand,
Touching demons that still last?

But shadows cannot prance about
When darkness blacks out light,
If one of us is stationary,
There cannot be a fight.

So ease your breath and hush your mind,
I'm locked up real complete,
There's no escape that I can see,
No key for me to keep.

The breath you feel upon your neck
Is no more than a draft,
So I'll see you in a lullaby,
The clocks can't be turned back.
