love, that simple word
so few comprehend

the very thing
we've come to learn
while walking through
this foreign land

its twisted and torn
by fear and rage
its pummeled and bruised
by jealousy

displayed as lust
or pornography
hidden in corners
of rules and conditions

defying description
its more a feeling
a recognized way
of being

but, sigh
the journey is long
the cliffs are steep
for those that manipulate
and refuse to breathe
the basic core of everything
and all that really is

let me delight in
watching your mouth
as your lips form the word
called Love

your tongue thrusts forward
as you say the L
the lower lip pouts
and your mouth gently opens

as the V comes out
upper teeth slide over
the bottom lip now
both lips return to touch

and I smile............
