light finger strokes
upon the piano
amazing grace
I play over and over
the piano is old
and quite out of tune
yet adds to the nuance
of what once was wretched
I bleed in the song
to heart wrenching tears
of what was lost
now has been found
for surely this day
this glorious Sunday
this hymn that I sound
will absorb in the sky
and mingle in clouds
as our hearts recognize
we are always in grace
always in place
our joy in the pleasure
our tears through the pain
that always knows we are one
again and again
