paint me yellow.

Catch the shine from
my head and the curve
of my love handles
as the light traces
patterns of fur from
the legs that are
all but broken.

Take my hands and
slam them against
the felt,
catch the calluses
of hammer work
and broken fingers
from childish fights

Trace the hump
across my back
and count the moles
on my face.

Grab my shoulders
that you loved
before and tell me
how beautiful I am.
