The city screams a silent cry
unheard instead mundane life we laude,
like work and love and can I fly
with my laptop battery that's been recalled?

you died for us that September day
part of our hearts are gone as well.
life hard before, now this damned way?
selfish thoughts return, but we don't tell.

but in our minds it's overkill.
how soon apathy crept back to life.
high tech eyes rob terror's freewill,
yet it all began with a plastic knife.

cry a little for life that's lost.
privacy is now government domain.
but don't forget the human cost.
one day of horror, but eternal pain.
