This is about being free of an illness only to have it return.

It left me seven years ago, and gave me
happiness I’d never known.   After 30 years
I was finally free. Lord, why did you
 return this to me?

I know it’s wrong to question God, but I
Still don’t understand, why you made me suffer
For 30 years, set me free, than brought back
This living hell again to torture me.

They say the Lord never gives us anything we cannot
endure. And though it was hard, endure I did. Many times
I awoke, lying on the floor, not knowing who I was
or why I was there. Then I looked up, a sea of people
giving me strange, confusing stares.

After seven years of freedom, you put me back in jail
I don’t know or understand why you did this to me.
But it was wonderful while it lasted being free of my
painful epilepsy.

.

You are so right, life is a mystery. It is a mystery of faith.

Jesus will always shine brighter than any santanic star.

We are being tested all the time. Why? Only God knows!

I also have a spiritual connection to my health troubles with my kidney, and when i thought I've done everything, and even dangerously cut down my medication here comes the painful mouth sores again, so bad I can hardly eat anything. Then my immune system fell drastically and it got worse.
A couple of months ago I got more disciplined with putting my Yoga to work and accepted certain foods I could not eat. The condition went away but my kidney was still not doing much. I got the gout.
It's an imperfect world no matter how well you do and sometimes Satan or Maya does get loose, but I too blame God and then notice it is worse.
Stick with your beliefs but know that no matter how hard it is, until we master the principles of positive faith, God's hands are tied - we will go up and down for awhile BUT He will not let go of our arms. Then one day YOU WILL TRULY BE HEALED.
I believe this - it is not superstition but yes it's hard.
Everyone wants healing to be instant and easy.
Don't give up your faith. I know your situation is much harder than mine. We don't know the hour or the time when God will heal. He is spirit power. It's scientific. One touch with that and we are changed forever for good. But it's never easy. I too have my days of doubt.
Let's both continue to try to remove the obstacles from our thinking...

I had a friend once tell me that steel is graded and purified through a consistent method of heating and cooling. Each time it becomes stronger and more pure. I would like to hold to the faith that those of us that God has a place for when we leave this world are tempered in that same method. You have captured the frustration you feel but take heart. It is always darkest before the dawn.
Be well and be safe, always
Mark

It's terrible that your epilepsy has returned, but don't blame god. My paralysis has progressed from paraplegia to quadriplegia and will cause me much more pain before my early death. The devil is in peoples' minds who don't understand our problems and deal with them badly.

Keep your good humor and don't rely on religion for a crutch and you'll be fine.

My heart goes out to you my friend, as a child I too suffered from seizures as a result of a softball accident. A scary disease that is a mysterious one as well. The number seven is an curious number that is repeated over and over again throughout the bible, this is surely a testing time for you, my heart goes out to you as well as my prayers.
Blessings,
Joyce B.

seven years of peace that God granted you are seven years more than most people have -- we know not treasons for God's work -- we only know, there are reasons -- may faith reside forever within you -- JMW

Mary, I don't know much about epilepsey, but I can certainly understand from your well-written and emotional poem how you must feel having lived such a long time without it only to have it return. After suffering with asthma most of my life, I can identify with anyone's suffering from an illness. God bless you.

Good Morning Mary,
I totally feel this poem you have precisely penned with your emotions, a very dear man to me that I have known for 28 years is epileptic from a head injury when he was a boy. He used to be my boyfriend too a few years back. This epilepsy is frightening & I always feared him driving, and so many neck injuries I feared paralysis.
I am sorry you have this too. There is only split seconds of its onset. I hope medicine managment enriches your life...
Much Love & Peace To You Den Sister & Embracing This Part of You...
