Keep your chimney cleaned by a professional sweeper…

From graveyards
to Mausoleums girth
Abandoned …Destruction…Destroyed
These remnant shards are the skeletal remains of someone’s home
Keep your chimney cleaned by a professional sweeper…
There truly is a difference between a House & a Home

Ember Blazes

Dare not to knock
Tick tock motions
Time can see you still
The rapping of incurred company
They ring the melted bells at will

Hark those heralds
Are angels really singing
Glory surely will soon rebuild
Ahead are memories waiting
Burned not by charcoaled doorways sill

The threshold of detriment lingers
They peer inside the remains of a dream
Where empty rooms are charred in ashes
And the story never begins it seems

So glory to all these newfound promises
And all the hope that faithful hearts can glean
But truth stands unfasten in its structures
Charred beyond crystals beautiful sheen

Cold are the fingers prodding their wonders
What on earth do flames know about empty’s fill
Where the hearth of fireside ember blazes
Peering incessantly into charcoals doorway still

Scary scenario. I really like your descriptions in this poem, Victoria. That last verse struck me the hardest. Great:)

Vickie,
You take a tragedy, a horrible event, and while not denying the horror you see hope and inspiration, a phoenix-like renewal. Yes!

The feeling of sharing such a loss arose as I read your words and looked at the picture Vick. When I was a child we had a fire in our homestead with my mother and father and eight kids we all survived and even the house sustained on minor damage but...
the next day sunk in how much we truly could have lost.

This is such a sad telling of what a fire can do. Yes we all should be more safety conscience! It is a devastating blow to have our home destroyed in this manner..Amazing picture to enhance the power of your poem.
Peace, love, and light

I was a fireman for 10 years. I've stood in the aftermath of Hell more times than I can remember.
Not only the chimney- folks would not believe how clogged a dryer exhaust hose can get. Keeping that cleaned out makes the dryer work well too. A difference of night and day.
You sure trigger memories for me of all kinds of things for me.

Only the fires of hell burn hot enough, burn time, sin, and the unforgiving, no chimneysweep will help there to stop the fires.

Ashes that say, "what if" all too late.
"...what on earth do flames know about empty’s fill,
where the hearth of fireside ember blazes..."
Feel the flames licking your face?

If you use your fireplace remember it has to be professionally cleaned almost every year to avert such a tragedy.
