Poem Artwork

Sensing

His gaze,

She turns

Quickly

To face

Him

-

Immediately

He looks

Away,

Not

Meeting her

Eyes

-

For to

Do so

Would

Surely

Admit

Defeat.

.

...AND, SO SADLY, IF HE ONLY KNEW....'DEFEAT' WOULD GIVE HIM THE 'VICTORY'. A KEEPER, 'CAUSE....I LIKE THE WAY YOU WRITE! THANKS FOR SHARING AND GOD BLESS. LOVE, JOYCE * HIS INSPIRATIONS

The power of defeat can be seen in different ways, though at times one must accept it as a way to move into the beginning....

nice work, Dawn...

... Defeat or discovery?! There is a sense of intrigue and depth to both... A wonderful cameo that puts our senses "out there" and creates a longing for the unravelling of a plot. Neat work, Dawn. TY Kate xx

hmm, there is much to be said in this work. both written and yet there seems to be words not yet spoken. what does he see in his fear? for it is not the mirror of her life. for she is bold and profound, yet he shrinks from the waves that topple his soul and the storms that trouble his heart. continue on dear Dawn.

always i am blessed with your words,
randy

Guys like that are useless, predictable, and greedy.
He's without guts, and I don't wish him well.
You pegged him accurately, and I applaud your writing.
For me it's all revealed in my poem, "Brief Encounter."

I found myself wishing this one was longer, Dawn. I wanted to see what happened next.
(Great picture choice too.)

Strong and powerful words Dawn that say so much with so little, their simplicity echoes and reverberates in the mind and forces us to wonder why?

Simply written, yet throwing a Powerful Punch describing Pride. Eyes tell us what we want to know, whichever story there is to tell, and when they are hidden purposefully, the words speak for themselves. Well Done Dawn.........Deborah:)

Your poem causes us to "see" the eyes are mirrors to the soul. At first, I thought the "...admit defeat" was to passon, then I reread your title and it all makes sense. We really are proud human beings who don't want others to read us.
