Unsolicited Thoughts

Please, do not take all of my poetry as personal statements. I write about "the human condition"...those things that I see around me...whether personal or not...always with a positive outcome in knowing ourselves.

- An unsolicited thought -

- Continually presenting itself -

- Entering her mind without warning -

Played out like a film

Watched over and over again.

The more she tries to

Eliminate it,

The more it seems to present itself -

The sting like that of a bandage

Torn off in one quick stroke.

In time,

Its persistence will liquefy,

Much as the bile that incessantly burns her throat -

The severity slowly evolving into

A distant memory –

Yup, when I get the loop tape in my head, I just ignore it. Most things I have to get over, so I choose straight away in most cases. Being human, loved ones friends etc, those loops seem to be a little bit more to stop....

There are so many things written, yet unwritten, in "Unsolicited Thoughts" that insinuate, imply, suggest and remind us of all the personal perplexities through life wallowing in our heads that were healed only by time. Excellent write.

Dawn,

I often wonder why thoughts, especially unwanted thoughts, are played out over and over in our minds. Do we lack self control or is there a power out there that lives to make us suffer? Thoughts fade but do they really ever go away? Love, Peace and Blessings Always, Paul.
