He articulated them well and often –

Cutting, acidic, vile, odious words.

In the beginning, they were generally

Followed with tender expressions of apology –

Engaging gestures of forgiveness – now there are

 days where nothing exists

Except endless silence and murderous glances.

It hurt her tremendously at the

Start – but one morning, it

Happened…the words I love you

Were no longer spoken –

For she learned to stop

Reciting the great damnable lie -

This one is sadly a view that simmers within so many relationships Dawn...love can become a repetitive day and only when we truly delve ourselves into commitment can we find unconditional love...

maybe, just maybe....this is one of our lessons to learn while here within this world...

How utter[ab]ly sad... I don't even know what to say other than that...
I wish that all of us could realize just what a force words can have...both good and bad.

Well done, Dawn. You captured, in a few words, the horror
of what people sometimes do to themselves and each other.
Sometimes it's not easy to find the funny part and that's
the sad part.

Good for her, you cannot love someone who has hate for you or doesn't respect your life....This hits so many themes, domestic voilence is what comes to mind, Great Write.

There is a theme that runs deep within your work - a distance between two. Perhaps something you have experienced or something you've adeptly described through astute powers of observation. Either way, this reader is left with a thick feeling left to muddle in the pit of the stomach. You depict the estrangement between people very well.

Ouch, this one hurt deeply, for all too often those words continue to be used long after the meaning is lost to the mists of time.

Indeed! I just thought of this; Why are we far more kind to "dumb" animals than we are to human beings with whom we are able to converse and reason? Damnable situation, indeed! - Still, - Bill

Dawn,

So sad to picture such a relationship. A marriage, will always have it's ups and downs. Life isn't perfect and we are only human. Working through the bad times as well as the good is meant to be done together. A partnership is what we sign on for when we say, "I Do" Peace, Love and Blessings Always, Paul.
