Dawn - Love the title " Hail Mary Pass." I feel that quiet solitude, reinforced by the silence of the first snow. Especially liked:

and like a desperate

quarterback threw a Hail Mary

pass out into the night, hoping

for its completion � a plea �

from his lips to God�s ears.

I love the feeling in this poem... the almost palpable sense of desperation on his lips...
But then...you are a master with creating those strong emotions in your characters with only a few short words.

I believe I have had a few of those moments Dawn...when one finds themselves wishing upon the very stars...for a wish to become true or for their God to hear their voice...it is something that surely has become that Hail Mary pass we all have thrown...
