A senior citzen got hit by a car
No one came to his aid
No one came to see if he was alright
People kept on going and going like the Energizer Bunny
It is a reflection of today's society
Being a stink place to live
Lack of humanity is the odor that we carry
The world needs a case of deodorant
Put it inside the pits of your soul
The world needs a case of deodorant
You will smell good with love and compassion for everyone
We have lost our minds
We have lost our morals
We have lost our values
Technical gadgets have turned us into addicts
Put down the I-phone
Help someone out
Help someone in need
They truly deserve it
The world needs a case of deodorant
Put it inside the pits of your soul
The world needs a case of deodorant
You will smell good with love and compassion for everyone
Come on,lets get rid of the stench
Come on,lets get back to whats important
Come on,lets get back to our priorities
Stop acting like an opera note
Being the Do Ri Me Generation
Lets get back to the purpose of living
You made me smile Edwin, yet this is a very sobering poem
written from a heart filled with compassion and love! A very
power packed message "Deodorant" We all need it, thanks for
bringing it home!! So to speak! Thanks for sharing and caring
Edwin.
I have often asked myself, Edwin, when I think the seminal moment of twentieth century man's moral demise was -- and certainly our federal government's intervention into the day to day moral issues of the family unit most assuredly fit the bill -- sadly we have evolved from that moment into the inhumane uncaring, "plastic personalities" we are today as a society -- your poem draws our attention to the fact that we reek with the B.O. of the earth's dispassionate residents -- peace and love my friend -- Jon Michael

I liked the way you stretched your metaphor of applying deodorant to the "pits of your soul". I enjoyed this piece, the "Do Ri Me Generation" is clever.
Once a pretty girls asked me which deodorant I used, I told her which brand and she asked me if it was sold out when I wanted one; I wasn't smelling good that day?
Mary Angela Nangini's poems celebrate the richness of life and love. From the city to cottage-country and the roads in between, Nangini explores the changing seasons of her varied region. (This book will soon be reprinted in hard cover.)
This is a book of free verse poetry that addresses the seven main tests in life and offers some sensible solutions to passing those tests with minimal discomfort.
