Beginnings filled with sleepless nights
passionate promises and
thrills of the heart.
Bewildered with lust and surrender
taken and spun and wrapped
for all it was worth.
Stars fall, turning to dust on the ground
in the realness of dissolution
and seeping of hope.
Love doesn’t weaken or fade away
just wakens to a new day
like a slap in the face.
A dismal day, bleached with truth
that life can be all and nothing
you want it to be.
