...thoughts, heartache, disillusionment...but also a lesson.
What torments the mind of those who would kill innocent children while attending school? What tortures the soul what increases their grief to cause a child�s life to be ever so brief? Children killing children perverts killing children fathers killing children the unexpected killing� of children. Retribution? Drugs? Alcohol? Are these factors to kill? Some call it a game, a fantasy to fulfill. Sanity seems to have vanished from the tormented mind leaving them to wander with their souls so blind. The Amish have a tenet one they do conceive Forgiveness is their answer to giving grief a reprieve. Heeding their practice we should follow their dictums pray once for the killers but more often for the victims. � Jackie (Micke) Jinks, October 2006

But I am sad to say that I am not too forgiveful
To those who thrill out of harming or torturing
Our children, They should suffer the consequences
here on earth, before they are damn eternaly into the abyss

IMHO, it is for God to forgive. I can pray for the killers, but I cannot forgive. My prayers are for the survivors of the victims. Terrific write, Jackie!

True we should pray for the sinner and the victims, but I think the victims are defenitely in Heaven and they need to pray for us sinners. For we are all sinners permitting others to pervert this world. Great poem. We are all shocked in Malta. Victor

Superb and timely poem,while this world is undergoing the loss of sacredness and reverence for our Creator. It is looking more like Revelations being fulfilled than ever. We must really stay steadfast in prayer....I do agree with your feelings about the murderers, our first impulse is to hate, but we know that only breeds more hate. It is best to give it to God,to pray for the sick soul, but oh dear Lord please ease the suffering of those poor Amish, who practice peace for all.Thank God they are stronger than we are, due to truly practicing their tenets...Well done Micke!

There are many loving prayers I would have for the victims...but for the killers...first thought "May you rot in hell"; but following the way of the Amish "God, help me to be forgiving, for I know You are the true Arbiter." Think about it...
