Beyond the black of darkness
Beyond the noise of sound
There lies the world of dreams
where all is upside down

Where motor cars run on rubber legs
and faeries speak in rhyme
Where the clock faces are upside down
and songs are out of time

Where snakes fly on rainbow wings
Bats wear glasses at night
while the sun and moon are sipping tea
while keeping their conversation light

There the caves hide secret forests
and from birdseed the birds do grow
Penguins all wear swimsuits
and in the desert it does snow

Where cats and dogs all relax
and play a game of chess
and in the ballroom a tuxedo does dance
the Waltz with the wedding dress

Where alligators smile their toothy grins
while reading books of jest
and the Phoenix collects cinnomon sticks
to make its fiery nest

Where dust bunnies softly sing
a childrens lulliby
and a dragon does cartwheels
in the autumn sky

Where knights in armor shine their spears
to roast marshmallows by the fire
Where one can sing a single note
for days and never tire

But soon the time will approach
as sad as it may seem
for the new day to begin
time to wake from land of dreams

Yet through the sunlit world
of reality do we wonder
of all the sights we have seen
while we softly slumber
