Thinking about my grandma,
and how we had such fun,
She sat telling me stories,
and played with me in the sun,
She always kept a box of toys,
so I had plenty things to do.
I made horses out of pipe cleaners,
and egg carton bats too.
She wasn't too old to play hide and seek,
or go on a merry go round.
She would smile and sing,
and I never saw her frown.
Her hair was all silver,
tied up in a bun,
Although she had many grandchilden,
I felt I was the only one.
She would take me on long walks,
with her soft hand in mine.
Always with a smile for me,
brighter than the sunshine.
She was the most perfect cook,
that I ever did see,
Making rolls and muffins,
and sun brewed ice tea.
But now her and my grandfather,
are with the good Lord above.
Adding to heavens joy,
and giving it more love.
Its been many years,
I'm all grown up, of course.
But I still think of them and sometimes,
I make a small pipe cleaner horse.
