In a place hidden under an old burial mound,
there is a cave deep underground.
A place no mortal man has seen,
there hides the throne room of the Goblin Queen.
She sits on a toadstool and files her long nails,
softly casting her hexes and spells.
Making nightmares appear while you dream,
and making you awake with a terrible scream.
Into the night she sends her goblin horde
to cause mischief to the world abroad.
She watches on a chariot of bats,
and gives them itching powder to put in your hats.
She laughs with delight as they scamper and hide,
she flies to you window to see who is inside.
She sends them to to hide the tools in the shed,
and to pull the covers off you in bed.
She watches them play goblin tricks,
like taking apart things that have just been fixed.
They open the car windows when there is rain,
and laughes in delight at their goblin games.
When the sun starts to peek over the land,
the Goblin Queen then raises her hand.
All of the Goblins then hide away,
back to the cave to sleep through the day.
Taking with them a few stolen things,
like screws and ratchets and old plastic rings.
The Goblin Queen sits on her toadstool and plans,
the next nightly raid on the world of man.
Sean, this is quite imaginative. That must be who stole the covers last night. I was blaming my wife. I'll have to appologize to her. Enjoyed your poem.
What would you do if your friend copped off with the man you loved? Wouldn't it break your heart? Abbie is heartbroken when Richard prefers her lovely French pen friend Colette over her.
