I’m in the nucleus of a headache
With pounding, screaming vintage
Music and garbled hit and miss
Words from the past
I’m stuck in its transparent circle
It reads my thoughts of being released
And immediately forms another
Membrane
I can’t see out anymore; the walls
Are opaque…
Things look bleak and my eyes are
Dancing to the rhythm of-
Squeeze pound
Squeeze pound
Squeeze pound, pound, pound
Kick!
It just won’t stop and there’s no
Way out
ooh don't remind me of my migraines! they've been good to me lately... or maybe I've been good to my body and I haven't eaten any of my migraine triggers... either way this is a very vivid representation of a bad headache ;)
You have my sympathy. My son has had migraines since he was a tot. Light was evil to him then and at any other time light was his inner source of energy. Nothiing can describe a bad one either. Great way to ease it with this poem though.
Migraines are no laughing matter....especially when they are clustered.

Good Grief, Marilyn, I don't doubt you for a second! We are told in writing class that our best piece will be from our deepest gut, our most familiar places... you've proven that entirely. Unpleasant as they are, you have certainly nailed it with this! Great work.. (now get some rest, if you can, poor thing). Sigh... katy xox.
