Slow Train

I’ll hitch a ride on a slow train tears in a bag unshed. I don’t know where I’ll end up slow train just chugs ahead. A little town called Delusion sign says “The perfect place to be- We trample trust and love and hope always dark and cold and bleak” Heartache is the next stop- the pain and lies hit hard, It leaves me drained and beaten, anguished with many scars. Unloved is the next town, The marquee says “You’re welcome here” Misty rain is all around loneliness is too much to bear. Slow train pulls up at Misery, depression weighs me down- gray wretched town rejects me slow train pulls out of town. Humiliate- it’s just three blocks So small but still I hide- I made mistakes; was ridiculed and now I have no pride. Pain is a place I know too well seems I’m always in this place maybe I’ll make a connection and disappear without a trace. So many towns are down the track I know I will attain, I’ll visit them soon and shed my tears hitching a ride on this slow train © MS 9.10.04

just think there will be other towns like self-love, happiness,
joy...we've all hit those towns before once or twice
