such a strange feeling i have -
so cold and removed
from what i know exists


standing on a runner
that’s being pulled
backward in the
mouthpiece of a
megaphone

getting closer
to deafening
voices
and a dim
light

stripping
my mind
my strength
my will
my peace
my hold
on what
has been -
what is -
and
what’s
to come

when did i
open
myself and
let this
demon
in

when did
it take over

what does
it want
from me

why won’t
i fight it

noise
bouncing
off the
hollow
narrow
tube

pulling
me
back
back
back

i blend
in with
the
voices –
get lost
in the dim
light until…


it’s
extinguished
