Raindrops

Thunderous clouds
circle in my head
my mind is running
in between raindrops

Raindrops of heavy
despair and frenzied
confusion falling at
my feet as I try to take
cover from the fierce
glimmer of silver-daggered
lightening as it pierces
the despair in a duel -
striking it over and over
resulting in hot sparks
and smoke

I don’t want it hovering
in my mind – soaking
it and squeezing and frying
it

I am tired of ducking
and dodging just barely
making it.

Which way do I go,
which direction should
I take

I need to get away
but I have no place
to go, nowhere to
be safe from this
gloomy dark cloud
that holds the power
to drown me

Which way do I go,
which direction should
I take ...my friend the only way is through that Golden gate of our Lord....At any crossroad there must be some turnoff or cul-de-suc....but I could not find that road ...as like you Yet..
Hang on there....everything happens for a reason.....even if that reason stinks...at least we have the rain to wash ourselfs in

We are all mortals here and the fear within us, at times...it is a fierce part of the Psyche that calls for action. This is how we grow and tasting fears are like a baby's first step must be although we forget that fear we remember to walk. Life is details that we either pick up and place in our basket or leave behind to become invalids to laziness. I love your poem and what it does for my thinking depth.
love and peace,
Susan

Wow, Marilyn. Well done. Depression is not easy to write about, nor express as well as you have. Bravo.

I love the same stanza Peggy did,
"I need to get away
but I have no place
to go, nowhere to
be safe from this
gloomy dark cloud
that holds the power
to drown me."

It speaks for us all, but most specifically for your own personal feelings, which is like the sprinkles of brilliance on top of a worldly cake ;)

Warm Love
