the lonely tears I

shed are from the lack of

understanding

they burn and burrow

in the worn paths on my cheeks

as they steal the air

that keeps me alive

i can’t think straight

i feel my soul rise and

exit my body

i am left so cold that

every part of me aches

i want to find peace -

a satisfying peace

within myself

but the ache won‘t let me

it never leaves me –

it’s always by my side,

guarding and hurting me

over and over again-

it repels anything that comes

close to it’s tough exterior

any attempts be

damned.

the empty shell of my

heart is calloused

my spirit is restrained

i feel abandoned and

deprived

I'm hanging from

the last worn thread --

and it's teasing and dangling

me over a pit of misery --

the thread breaks and I fall --

pitifully weeping

while tangled threads consume

and strangle me

i cannot fight this

anymore.

i wave a handkerchief -

deep

RED

and

cold

from my bleeding heart
