Uncle Sam

Uncle Sam's a dear old man
He's always scheming some great plan
He's fun to know, he'll always play
He's wide awake 'most every day

He welcomes all, both great and small
He's there for you whenever you call
You know he's busy but still he cares
He has the time, he gives and shares

I've watched this guy for many a year
From miles away, in awe and fear
He has an open heart and mind
He knows how to be cruel and kind

It's opportunity mankind needs
And Uncle Sam will plant the seeds
He watches where things grow and die
He learns as others fall and fly

He takes it in, he keeps account
Strategising from the mount
You won't get much past this wise soul
His mind is always on the goal

The goal of freedom, truth and hope
Helping those who cannot cope
He'll smile and say 'friend, here I am'
So trust him, dear old Uncle Sam
