What's It For?
More and more we seem to use
Each day there's something to amuse
We're entertained beyond all dreams
A life of luxury, so it seems
In quieter moments, we might ask
Amidst all this, is there a task?
A reason for our time on earth
Perhaps something which might give us worth
The answers lie in dungeons deep
And sometimes high on mountains steep
The search is on, despite our land
And dreams in mind, forever grand
It makes no difference what befalls
Your hopes and fears aren't held by walls
The fight for justice rages on
And powers will fall, dictators gone
So have no doubt the world will change
Although some things seem out of range
All work that's done cuts to the core
And solves the riddle of 'what's it for?'
