Missing You

Windswept hills that overlook the bay.
Ocean tidal waves rush in with the set of day.
I sit and ponder this, life and its meaning.
I know I am not getting all I should be gleaning.

Why does someone you love have to die?
Even knowing she was ready and willing, I still cry.
Little things tend to get me going…
a certain look or word, a picture of her favorite plants growing.

It’s been over a year since she left us behind.
The urge to call her and tell her things is still a habit, I find.
It seems unreal that she is not just a call away.
It feels as if I had just talked to her yesterday.

She comes several times to me in my dreams.
She looks happy, young, healthy and full of life, it seems.
She visits me in our new house, looks around it with delight.
She exudes a blanket of love and I bask in her light.

In the dream, I know she is not alive anymore.
I know she is only visiting as I give her the tour.
When it is time for her to go, we embrace, say our goodbyes.
We know it is not final, so neither of us cries.

When I wake up, I always feel warm and happy.
I tell my husband of the dream, without getting sappy.
He seems to know what I am trying to say…
that she and I will see each other again one day.

So sad as this parallels the thoughts of my sister, Leticia; January 1956-March 2000

Very deeply touching, but the good thing is that you will see her in heaven one day.

a sad (yet hopeful), meaningful and eloquently written piece.
I believe what you have written to be true...the cycle of life and death is simply that, a cycle, just as spring follows winter without question or hesitation... we meet again, and again, live again and again ...because this is the way of things. blessings to you.

The Libra Solution: Shedding Excess and Redefining Success by Lisa DAnnolfo Levey

The familiar lament of dual-career parents raising children is, "I just can't do it all." The Libra Solution provides an alternative - a more satisfying and sustainable work and life approach - to the overwrought modern day norm.
