Picture Julie Andrews singing...
"These are a Few of My Favorite Things".
Silver leaves floating on a gentle stream.
Dusky pink mornings and hot steamy coffee with cream.
Lazy Sundays on the couch with the paper.
Fun-filled Saturdays that fly by and disappear like vapor.
These are a few of MY favorite things.
Fairy filled nights full of moonlit skies.
Laying on my back, looking at stars and fireflies.
Soft warm summer nights with a light breeze on a swing.
Cherry blossoms and daffofils and all the flowers of Spring.
These are a few of MY favorite things.
Stories of gnomes, elves and a wizard's apprentice.
Watching meteors blaze bright with me as their witness.
Lying next to my husband every night.
Seeing the sun come up, so promising and bright.
These are a few of MY favorite things.
Twilight and the shade of blue that it brings.
Green grass, newly cut, and butterfly wings.
Caramel apples and the taste of buttery popcorn.
An old pair of jeans, comfortable and worn.
These are a few of MY favorite things.
The sunny disposition of a daisy in a meadow.
Warm fragrant breezes coming through an open window.
Hearing the drowsy hello meow of my cats welcoming me.
The shade of an old oak tree and being where I want to be.
These are a few of MY favorite things.
