Yesterday’s nurture becomes passé
As yearning loins, deny maternal authority.
Love’s greatest pain for human kind becomes not death but the detachment required to fend off adolescent manipulation.
The rites begin and baby moves under the heart and following birth rests upon the knee.
Molting birds attempt flight
And faltering,
Swagger rather than cry.
