If the soldiers in Iraq
                         could speak back
            to tell us what they think
                         of it all
            I think their very anger
                         would shake us--
Conveying to us how the sabotage
                         of all their efforts
            to restore the country's necessities
                         power and water
            to help a liberated people
                         move on and through
Living without power and water--depravity's collage

Perhaps they would say
                                              something like this:

             I'm tired of those f-ing assholes--
             those fanatical bastards
             screwing their own people
             because they don't like us.
             What f-ing assholes
             would screw their own people
             out of water and electricity
             just because they hate us
             and want to make a point?

             How could anyone
             in their right mind
             be such f-ing assholes?
             What the f***!
             Here we are helping them
             and they screw us
             and their people--
             regardless of how we got here,
             we came here to help
             and yet these people don't care
             or are so jaded by the cause
             that they would dare
             screw everyone to make a point.
             I'm so f-ing sick of it!

Does the sabotage bother us?
                         those that are here
            when we read it in papers
                         all the fights
            when innocents are killed
                         for cowards' causes
Do we think about the soldiers' reactions?
                         that can't speak
             to tell us what they think
                         of it all
             has the thought of it
                         shaken you?
The destroying of the thing that they are doing
                         is a hard one
              to restore a country's necessities
                         power and water
              to have a fanatical group
                         sabotage it all

              I wouldn't dream
              of saying what I think
              of those idiots over there,
              who are so stupid
              as to deprive their own people
              in the name of the cause.
              But, I'll tell the possible voice
              of the soldiers there
              to speak for me--
              for what I would say
              if I expressed
              my inner anger.
