Though her lot be cast in sorrow
circumstance can’t pale…

The strength to stand within the winds
that bend her ‘neath their force…
Has only come from trying times
in which she stayed the course.

She ran the race with diligence
while swallowing her tears.

From past mistakes comes wisdom’s voice
to spare us from the same…
It’s not enough to hope for change
