Missing You
What do I do to ease this feeling of emptiness, listlessness and abandon?
When every song I hear pulls me back to times we passed together,
When each time the moves of a gifted dancer brings me back to the ease with which your muscles reinterpreted the pulse of the latest rhythm,
When everyone’s effort to do a good job must need be measured against your standard,
When the cell phone beeps to indicate an incoming message and my ears itch to hear only your voice,
When my email prompts new mail and my hopes culminate in finding its from you
When it does not matter the time of day-dreaming is a pleasure
When I can’t remember the texture, color or flavor of life before I met you,
When your picture stares back at me with such strong magnetism that I must need look away,
When the only way to stop missing you is to miss you even more.
I MISS YOU!
