I love the metaphors here. We can take it on so may levels. The lesson I loved the most was this:
"Creating a garden of rich-hued grass and flowers"
We often think that it would be better to not start the fire. If we didn't have to go through the things that made us so angry in the first place, we would be much happier. But that is never the case. We need that fire to burn out the old growth to make way for that rich-hued grass and the wonderful gardens. So let the fire come. We just need to make sure we quench it before it destroys us completely.
Great write. Spoken with much wisdom and feeling. I hope you're enjoying the Son-shine in your gardens.
Much love,
Leo
I cannot be more in agreement with all of my peers below to open my welcoming arms to our community of writers and painters.
Your poem have that quality only inspirational ones are written with a heart that felt pain but that conquered the desire to retribution and, as you said, basked in peace under the sun of forgiveness.

Dear Cryssa, first of all, I welcome you in our AuthorsDen. As you can see, I am a grandpa who grew up among ten children. We still love each other dearly. We lost three of us; we are now seven. My wife and I just came home from a 160 miles trip, to be with my children and my grandchildren. We had dinner together then everyone left in another direction.
I had the pleasure of reading your bio and your poem: "The Color of Forgiveness". You described real feelings of a human being. Let’s say it simply, our head is a computer and our body has multiple chords, each one of which has an array of feelings showing us the good and in the wrong path. It is up to us to choose. The moment we choose the good path, we feel relieved. You described both of them and I am pleased to recognize you for that. Looking forward to read you again. Keep going, we are with you, with love and sincerity. God bless you, Emile
How well you describe a bitter feeling for someone and how forgiveness gives the peace of mind to you that was not there before. Welcome aboard. Time does soften a hurt.
I love the style, the creativity and your woven words toward THE ultimate lesson...Forgiveness. It is the only place to bask!
Welcome to AD, you and I have alot in common, I'm sure!

I wrote a poem, "O' Scintillations" Check it out sometime, Uou and I saw the same SON!
Hellish metaphor of the power of Satin to taunt and agonize us as the power of "The Light" absolves us and anoints our spirit into peacefulness and then sends off on a new journey. Beautiful metaphor of Christ power over evil and His willingness to easy our misery (often self created) and allow us learn and become wiser. Beautiful reflection! In "The Light," Dream Weaver
You write of upheaval, its anguish and potential for destruction, the hope and the light with such clarity. You definitely have my attention. It would appear that I saved the best for last [having read your other two poems first.] Your poetic heart is beautiful, as I'm sure is your human one.
WOW! I can see where the talent runs...powerful expression here. Tested by time...the fires...the floods, and yet, your resolve shines like a diamond in the rough. Beautiful.

Yes, after the fire and rain, we can see more beauty if we only have the eyes to behold it. Love ya
WOW-- did that ever metamorph into a beautiful, powerful thing! I love the last two stanzas-- and the rest too! I'm such a sucker (succor?) for alitteration-- my tongue is still licking my teeth over this one. And I felt the coming of peace right along with the poem. It "works" extremely well. --Your favorite Charlie
