A Pantoum Poem...

    Whispers of a Wish...

My soul whispers a wish for you
each night as I crawl into bed
and a plea to my Father, unspoken,
says more than mere words could have said.

Each night as I crawl into bed
my heart skips a beat of longing
that says more than mere words could have said,
as loneliness rocks me to sleep.

My heart skips a beat of longing
when I am reminded of you
as loneliness rocks me to sleep
to dream fitful dreams anew.

When I am reminded of you…
I wonder if time’s grown too late
to dream.  Fitful dreams anew
enfold me as I battle with fate.

I wonder if time’s grown too late
for my dreams to ever come true .
Please! Enfold me as I battle with fate
and pray to my Father for you…

For my dreams to ever come true - -
a plea to my Father, unspoken,
sends  a prayer to my Father for you
-My soul whispers a wish for you-

Crys,
This is absolutely beautiful. You picked perfect lines. Each new iteration gives each line a new meaning. There is something plaintive yet sure here. Great emotions.

"Whispers of a Wish...?" or an omen oozing from a subconscious crack of the soul, where dreams easily are converted in nightmares when confronted with a prayer to the Father...

I love the pantoum form, though I haven't written one in ages. I may have to write some more of them. This poem is beautiful.

Thank you for sharing it!

A pretty poem. And I'm so proud of you for "rhyming" longing with sleep! I haven't even started yet. --Charlie

Delicate beauty in this one, Cryssa, well done. I'm going to have to get a book of poetry to learn all of the different forms you and Charlie use!

(((HUGS))) and love, Karla.
