Light Rain

They say the darkest hour

is just before the dawn--

that time when it appears

all help and hope is gone.

No moon shines down

to show the way

and answers seem so far away,

even when you pray.

When darkness reigns

I’m filled with doubt

and faith begins to wane.

It’s then my heart cries out,

“Oh, starless sky

of blackest night,

rip thy seams apart

and rain upon me light!

Remove the clouds which obscure light

and hold my mind in bands.

Calm the storm which holds me bound

and help me understand.

Send stars to pierce

the heavy threads

that hold the shadows

in my head.

Burst open heaven’s inner core.

Let stars and moon ignite.

Illuminate the darkened skies.

Rain light on me tonight!”

Very majestic and uplifting poem that ought to be read by everyone, but especially anyone given to feeling down. I think this poem practically sings out something many of us have experienced at one time or other.

Deeply felt, Cryssa ... sometimes that darkness settles in like night itself, and all we can do is press on until the morning light comes. Very emotive. Hugs, Elizabeth

There is such beauty in these words, Cryssa, and a sincere plea too, I believe. "Rain light on me tonight." I pray that your nights are filled with the Light from above and that your days be filled with wonder.

Blessings on your and your family, my friend,
Linda

wonderful twist of words and feeling, Cryssa. I identify. I always hate to tell anyone that one of their poems stands out, but I think this one does--but that's not to downgrade any of the others....Jerry
