   Standing on the Fault

She stands there on the precipice

of the dream that will not die

and sees a path to its fruition

but doubts and fears arise.

Is she worthy of the goal--

of the gift that could be hers?

The mists of darkness haunt her mind

and threaten to invoke.

She hears the words of faith pronounced

and struggles to grasp hold,

but fear of failure reaches out

and shakes her timid soul.

They say the worth of souls is great

but is she good enough?

Will she be chosen as the one

or will she be rejected?

She stands upon the fault line--

unsure how things will fall;

but knowing she cannot control

the outcome of it all.

She feels a kinship to the one

who reached out to touch His hem.

She wishes she had faith enough

to reach out from the throng.

Maybe then that dream would come

and land upon her palm--

that outstretched hand that longs to grasp
the dream that will not die.

Our faith is often times shaken, and it takes great strength to overcome and endure all we are given ... but keep hope alive ... this is so well written and very emotive, Cryssa! Hugs, Elizabeth

Dear Cryssa, The poem is very well written, please tell her that she should not expect anything or interpret anything about the future, but leave it to the grace. A beautiful suprise is waiting for her, no matter what, as long as she keeps the faith and her love.

I agree with George! I felt the yearning in this, to "know" and that seems to be the hardest part, just to know for sure...Excellent poem Cryssa, beautifully written!

One's love can never be measured by our insecure minds but have faith in what you believe in and all will turn out just fine.

Lovely work, Cryssa! Fabulous rhythm and metre and I note that it is ALWAYS when the subject flows sincerely from a writer's heart that ideas and rhymes meld effortlessly and the breathing of the poem is unforced. Beautiful thoughts and images here. Can relate fully! :)) xx
