This man of mine, so kind and sweet;
With his words and attention, makes me feel more complete.
The things of life, between one and another,
He makes me feel, but not like a brother.

This man of mine, with voice strong and low,
Knows how to caress me, in his arms I long to know.
He definitely has a way with words, to make me feel secure.
He doesn’t lie and doesn’t cheat; his way is much too pure.

This man of mine is tall and strong.
If love does have its way between us, it won’t start off wrong.
He respects the independent woman that I am,
foregoing insistence of the ways of male ego, putting me in a jam.

This man of mine is easy to love and understand.
His ways are of responsibility and pride;
hard work foremost, laying all else aside.
Life’s disappointments and heartaches, taken in his stride.

This man of mine is gorgeous and funny.
Although he doesn’t know it, and sometimes his jokes are corny.
Life stretches him physically, but he keeps on going,
Working two jobs diligently, dawn to dusk, dusk through morning.

This man of mine deserves to be happy.
And that’s where my role comes into play.
If I can bring a smile to his lips,
Then I know I can complete his day.

This man of mine is good and thoughtful,
Of others more than he.
He takes care of his errands and tasks in his limited time,
Placing emphasis first on his responsibilities.

This man of mine deserves so much more,
Than he is currently receiving.
And because his ways I’m beginning to adore,
I will give to him with deep and true meaning.

This man of mine does not ask for much.
Respect, love, and a gentle touch.
His way of life has been somewhat narrow,
Leaving him at times a bit somewhat harrowed.

This man of mine deserves so much more.
In his patience and endurance, God has restored.
He will surely one day receive his reward,
Both here on earth, then walking with His Lord.
