After George and Jeb had abandoned her plight,
Terry Schiavo continued to fight
As lovers of life fought each night
To save at least one inalienable right.
But it has come; she has died.
Though her parents pleaded and publicly cried
So that she may live till all venues were tried..
Yet those in Washington no longer vied
That she may live, not die in vain,
Their cautious politics being overtly lain -
While the helpless woman was legally slain -
Trusting memories of voters would inevitably wane.
Still, what if it was your daughter?
Or was your own son?
Would you watch their slow slaughter?
Say they were done?
I could never do that
For I would ever be dead
Within my spirit as well as my head
If they took out the tube on which they were fed.
‘Tis true those like her will be saved someday
As our ancestors eventually have their say
To bring them back and save the day!
[So that hospice is no longer America’s “sole” way.]

Hospice is supposed to be a place where a person terminal spends the last six months of thier life but it no less diminishes their right to be humanely treated. Now when people get married they should have separate living wills and most do not know that POA ends at death.
