Here is a consolidated collection of political limericks from my website. Hope they invoke a chuckle and perhaps even a tear.

There once was a rich man from Texas
Whose reign was surely the nexus
For disasters and woes—
Almost eight years of lows—
How could one man do so much to vex us?

Should Hillary be handed the reins
When pundits claim there’s ice in her veins?
I say why the hell not
Give a woman a shot
After eight years of a man with no brains.

Earth is the home all living things share
Now it’s warning mankind to take care.
“You will soon destroy me
Fouling air, land and sea.
There is only so much I can bear.”

Privatization is finally here.
See industry leaders grin ear-to-ear.
They love a vacation
From all regulation.

So they can pollute and gouge without fear.

This country has been plunged into debt
But the President says not to fret.
“Hey, China’s still lending
So let's keep on spending.
Trillions in debt is no reason to sweat.”

There once was a rich man from Texas
So spoiled and incredibly reckless.
He decided to run
And the court ruled he’d won
That’s why we are bankrupt and friendless.

There once was a lady named Condi
Whose job was to make George feel dandy
She shooed bad news away—
So he’d have a nice day.
And when he was good gave him candy.

Seven years we've been racing downhill
As Bush and Cheney fed us their swill.
They've kept right on lying
The people defying
Of their garbage, we’ve all had our fill.

Why bother giving children health care
When their folks have no money to spare?
Give Blackwater the cash
Let the rich keep their stash.
Tell those sick kids the cupboard is bare.

There are some who say Ann Coulter's great
‘Cause all liberals she loves to berate.
Through muck she meanders—
And good folks she slanders
Getting rich while she’s peddling hate.

He kept on singing the same old song.
And insisting he'd done nothing wrong.
Ignoring rule of law
With amazing chutzpah
Explains how Gonzales lasted so long.

CEO's get paid millions each year
Just for making good jobs disappear.
Cutting fringes and pay
The American way
Through outsourcing, illegals and fear.

There once was a man named O'Reilly
Who thought of himself very highly
He'd pretend to be nice
Then his victims he'd slice
Armed with half-truths spoken so wryly.

Getting rich is what matters today
And that's a damn good reason to pray.
Screw the poor and the weak
It is wealth you must seek.
If God loves you, he'll show you the way.

Doesn't Bush make us all feel so proud?
As he sings his own praises out loud.
While the war is raging
Photo-ops he's staging
Watch as he winks and smirks at the crowd.

Politicians are forced to decide
When the people and business collide
It’s hard not to sell out
And most do, there’s no doubt
Casting their oath of office aside.

I love Limericks, and absolutely adore these prizes of yours! One thing...on the third: Bush nearly went bankrupt twice in oilfield business in West Texas; Saudies bailed him out both times and how he conveniently bought into the Texas Rangers...and bought into Texas Governorship...not a fan of his...

Beyond brilliant. I got a chuckle or two but mostly the truth struck at my core, sadly. Excellent Liz
