Those in political office, are oft corrupted by a little power.

Basalt 'neath your blistered feet

Near the rim of desire's fire your foray

Sulfuric plumes escaping in choking fumes

Wisdom led you not to this place

The face of disgrace beckoned

From fleshy lures, seeking magical cures

All that enter this den, wanton men

Deception entered through Hell's back gate

Swung closed, 'twas too  late

Appeasing your ego led to this fate

Draconian conceptions felled your soul

Gaze now wide eyed into the abyss

Journey planned with Satan's charts

Disgust and disdain

No match for the surreal pain

Lost soul climb now smartly to new heights

You would have more wisely sought

If at first, love,not sin

Had been the planning thought

Against the call of evil

You should have fiercely fought

Woe to you, politico

SPOT ON. Promises made to be broken - just once I'd like to see an honest politician! Ain't gonna happen, though - sad. Well said!

(((HUGS))) and love, Karla.

...I am so glad to be retired from a job that was run on politics, no more playing the game, just to work!!!

Most politicians are people persons who try to please as many as they can. They learn to compromise to win elections and soon find compromising their own values no problem until others point it out to them.
