glory days life in foggy hazes
concepts on psychedelic fringes
truth's fragile prospect lost
tethers to reality dared not linger
where imagination cavorted in the nude
within chartreuse rain drops
apparitions rode long black trains
whims robbed naked justice's sleep
societal remoras never paid fares
responsibility struggled for a hold
onto lifeboats launched into
The Sea of Fractured Values
accountability desired to be banished
minds traversed the surreal
until reality violently captured
a generation dying in red hazes
face down in communal allies
of purple and yellow LSD hazes
brave men died a world away in southeast Asian rice patties
glory days who'll fondly recall
when a generation stood so small
glory days?

An impressive piece that shares the images of a time,which so clearly shows us the adage"what goes around comes around" Will we ever stop repeating our mistakes,and elect leaders who know how to lead? Superb work, Jon!
I believe that we need more of the fire of the sixties youth to make a difference in this world...some things were wrong and some things inane but for the first time youth questioned and stood up to governments that they believed were in the wrong.

There is this wheel again as it turns, and it will keep on turning,
there is always a backlash to the opposite if it outweighs the norm,
being too far right, or left, one always gives rise to the other, but of course extremes don't solve anything, and balance is hard to come by, or at least a balanced view of things. Enjoyed, Peace! should I say brother? ha Jasmin Horst

and as for the mind altering....deliberate is bad enough to find a "HIGH" But to decieve through governmental testing surely was even worse...
